Stefano Boeri to bring vertical forest tower to utrecht's new urban district

It has been announced that the netherlands’ first vertical forest will be constructed in the city of utrecht. italian architect stefano boeri recently won a competition to complete the project as part of a larger urban plan for the city’s jaarbeursboulevard district. as part of the masterplan, two high rise buildings will sit as neighbors: one by boeri and the other by dutch studio MVSA.

Netherlands Gets its First Vertical Forest Designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti

First Italy, then China, and now Netherlands gets its own version of Stefano Boeri Architetti’s vertical forest. The Milan-based firm has won a competition for the development of the Jaarbeursboulevard, a central area in Utrecht, via its proposal of the “Hawthrone Tower”. The tower will be one of two high rises that shall mark the Dutch city. The other tower is designed by Amsterdam-based MVSA studio.
